Moscow airports

Moscow has 3 mostly used international airports: Sheremetevo (official web site: http://svo.aero/en/ ), Domodedovo (official web site: http://www.domodedovo.ru/en/ ), Vnukovo (http://www.vnukovo.ru/en/ ) the order of this airports I wrote here means the chance you will arrive airport if you fly from Europe or North America. To search for cheap flights you can try this site Jetradar.

Sheremetevo

Sheremetevo

Sheremetevo is main international airport in Moscow area. It’s about 40 km from the center of Moscow. You can reach Moscow from airport in 4 ways: bus, taxi bus (it’s Russian invention J), train, taxi.

The fastest way in daily hours is Train about 40 minutes. In Sheremetevo it operates from 05:00 AM till 00:05AM (official schedule http://www.aeroexpress.ru/en/sheremetyevo.html ) train has its own name AeroExpress, you can find article about AeroExpress in this blog. It costs 400 Rub (~ 6$). You will arrive Belorysskaya metro station on this train.

The other ways:

Taxi.

I strongly recommend to take ONLY official taxi. First because of the most fair prices and the second unofficial taxi ( in Russian language they are called “Bombily”) can simply because you are a foreigner beguile you out of money. The cost is varies on your destination but to the center of Moscow it gona be about 1800-2200 rubles (~30-40$).

Bus and taxi bus.

I made equal sign between bus and taxi bus because they follow practically the same route. The difference is that taxi bus usually takes less time to reach it’s final station because they are smaller and they make stops ONLY by ask of a passenger. As for me for foreigner it’s the most inconvenient way to get to the city just because of the language barriers. In bus or taxi bus no signs in English, no announces of stops in English and finally in most cases drivers don’t know English at all.

The Buses that you can take from airport to city (http://www.svo.aero/en/shuttle/)  is:  851, 851E to Rechnoi Vokzal metro station; 817 to Planernaya metro station. Price is 30 Rub (0,5$)
